Conformance Status
This website aims to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as required under:
- SEBI Circular on Digital Accessibility for Registered Intermediaries
- Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW 3.0), MeitY
- Information Technology (Accessible Websites) Rules / Rule 15
- Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPWD Act)
We are partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 AA. Partial conformance means some parts of the content do not fully conform. We are actively working toward full conformance with each release.
Measures Taken to Support Accessibility
Semantic HTML & Landmarks
We use <header>, <nav>, <main>, <footer>, <section>, and <article> elements to structure content logically for assistive technologies.
Skip to Main Content
A hidden skip-link is provided at the top of every page, visible on keyboard focus, to allow users to bypass repeated navigation.
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard (Tab, Enter, Space, Arrow keys, Escape). No keyboard traps exist.
Visible Focus Indicators
A 2px solid outline is shown on all focused elements for users navigating by keyboard, meeting WCAG 2.4.7.
Alternative Text
Meaningful images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes (alt="") or aria-hidden.
ARIA Roles & Labels
ARIA landmarks, labels, live regions, and role attributes supplement native HTML semantics where required.
Form Accessibility
All form fields have associated <label> elements linked via htmlFor/id. Required fields are marked. Error messages are descriptive and announced via aria-live.
Dialog / Modal Accessibility
Modals use role="dialog", aria-modal="true", and aria-labelledby. Focus is trapped within the modal and restored on close. Escape closes all modals.
Table Accessibility
Data tables include <caption> elements and scope attributes on <th> cells so screen readers can associate headers with data.
Colour Contrast
Primary text on backgrounds meets the WCAG AA 4.5:1 contrast ratio. We do not rely on colour alone to convey information.
Responsive & Zoomable
The site is fully responsive across devices. Content remains usable when text is resized up to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
Reduced Motion
Animations and transitions are disabled for users who have enabled the prefers-reduced-motion operating-system setting.
Language Attribute
The HTML <html lang="en"> attribute is set on every page so screen readers use the correct pronunciation engine.
No Automatic New Windows
Links do not open in new windows or tabs without warning. Where a new window is necessary, users are informed in the link text.
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts, some areas of the website may not yet fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA. Known limitations include:
- Rich text editor (TipTap): The investment-idea authoring editor may have limited screen-reader support. We are evaluating accessible editor alternatives.
- Third-party payment gateway: When integrated, the payment gateway UI is provided by a third party. We will ensure the gateway meets WCAG 2.1 AA before go-live.
- Dynamic data tables: Large data grids in the investment-ideas panel may require additional ARIA grid patterns.
- ISL / Sign Language: Video content with sign-language interpretation is not yet available. This will be addressed in the next release cycle.
- PDF documents: Any downloadable PDFs are being reviewed for tagged, selectable-text compliance per WCAG PDF Techniques (W3C PDF Techniques).
